Emerge Gets Results | Emerge PAEmerge Pennsylvania

Emerge Pennsylvania is part of a national movement. Since the first Emerge state was launched in 2002, Emerge has trained more than 1,800 Democratic women to run for office to date:

  • 52% of Emerge alumnae have run for office or been appointed to local boards or commissions
  • Of those who have run for office, 70% have won
  • In addition, we have a strong record of diversity: 40% of our alumnae are women of color

Representative Carolyn Comitta was part of the first Emerge Pennsylvania cohort and recently won her race to represent Pennsylvania's 156th district. After a recount, she won her race by only 18 votes. The 156th District includes the borough of West Chester and the townships of Birmingham, East Goshen, Thornbury, Westtown, as well as the northern section of West Goshen.
