Abigail Gardner

Strategic Communications Consultant, Scottie Public Affairs

A Pittsburgh native, Abigail's political career started in 2004 when she was bitten by the campaign bug.  Since then she has worked with Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, including: Kerry for President (2004); Spitzer for Governor (2006); Obama for President (2007); Maffei for Congress (2008, 2010); Sandra Fluke for California Senate (2014).

Abigail served in the press office of New York Governor Eliot Spitzer during his brief but memorable tenure, and was the communications director for Congressman Dan Maffei (D-NY) from 20082010.  In 2011, she joined the award-winning political and communications consulting firm SKDKnickerbocker. As a vice president, she helped corporate and non-profit clients navigating a range of issues, and continued to consult for political campaigns and elected officials. She also created and led a staff development program to coach and train staff. In 2015, Abigail returned home to Pittsburgh to open her own public affairs and strategic communications consulting firm, Scottie Public Affairs. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she is thrilled to be back in the ‘Burgh.
