Emerge Pennsylvania Adds Eight New Board Members

Philadelphia – Emerge Pennsylvania today announced eight new members joined its Board of Directors. These women are joining 16 current members of the board. Emerge Pennsylvania is proud to announce the following new Board Members:

  • Jasmeet Ahuja (Delaware County)
  • Keyva Clark (Allegheny County)
  • Democratic Nominee for Wilkinsburg Mayor, Marita Garrett (Allegheny County)
  • Caitlin Handerhan (Erie County)
  • Blayre Holmes (Allegheny County)
  • Salomé Johnson (York County)
  • Nikki Lu (Allegheny County)
  • Aubrey Montgomery (Philadelphia County)

 This is an outstanding group of women who have already done so much to change the face of power in Pennsylvania. We are honored to have them join Emerge’s board,” said Rep Tina Davis, Co-Chair and Co-Founder of Emerge Pennsylvania. “These women represent a diversity of backgrounds, knowledge, and skill sets that will be valuable assets as we continue to provide the premier training for women running for office in the Commonwealth.”

The network we provide to the women candidates who come through our program sets Emerge apart from other programs,” said Rep, Mary Jo Daley, Co-Chair and Co-Founder of Emerge Pennsylvania. “We pride ourselves on our ability to connect our women to the best and brightest minds in politics and we believe this new group of women will make us even stronger and help our women to be better prepared and better connected.”

Emerge Pennsylvania is the premier training program for Democratic women in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Launched in 2015, Emerge Pennsylvania offers a 6-month, 70-hour training, and now has more than 45 alumnae across the state.  Emerge PA is an affiliate of the national organization, Emerge America, which has over 2,500 alumnae across the nation. Fifty-two percent of Emerge alumnae have run for office or been appointed to local boards or commissions. Of those who have run for office, over 70 percent have won.
